Michigan Real Estate Licensing Requirements

All of our real estate prelicensure and broker training courses are approved and meet all requirements and guidelines set forth by the State of Michigan.

Real Estate Salesperson

An applicant for a Michigan Real Estate Salesperson license must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and complete the education and exam requirements required by the Michigan State Occupational Code, PA 299, as amended.

A real estate fundamentals course with a total of forty (40) hours learning time is required to be completed BEFORE you are able to take the final licensing exam to become licensed.

Upon completion of this course, you have up to thirty-six (36) months to take the final examination to become a licensed real estate salesperson in Michigan.

Salesperson Courses Available

Real Estate Broker

An applicant for a Michigan Real Estate Broker license must meet all requirements for licensure before submitting an application to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). 

An application must verify required real estate experience and successful completion of all required education.  Some applicants will be required to provide other documentation depending upon their background. e.g., all applicants must possess good moral character, applicants who currently hold, or have evern held a real state license in another state or jurisdiction must submit a current letter of good standing from each regulatory entity.

A broker must complete a total of ninety (90) hours of learning time BEFORE you are able to take the final licensing exam to become licensed.

Upon completion of this course, you have up to thirty-six (36) months to take the final examination to become a licensed real estate broker in Michigan.

An applicant for a broker license must meet all requirements for licensure before submitting an application to the Department.  Successful broker license exam candidates will be provided an Associate Broker License Application with their passing score notification.
